About Me:
I love fun, comedic, outgoing, REAL folks who don't just gripe all the daggoned time. Life is too short for thaaaat! Take out the wild hair and THEN call me. Furthermore, if you are going to be long-winded, can we talk about something cool? Dang! LOL. I'm a mental, intellectual person about my business, but I am extremely FUN---wouldn't have it any other way. My employees and partners LOVE me…but don't get it twisted and let the sweet smiles fool you. I'm like the basic SISTA prototype 101--I don't take NOOOO mess! LOL.

So yeah...I'm not feelin' bugs, plane turbulence, or traffic (which includes all of the special population of folk who just CAN'T drive worth a darn—all cities. LOL). I am more of the exotic island type. I love water views….white, sandy beaches…reggae music…steel drums (I can get down on those, too!) greenery…foreign accents of all kinds. I want a driver named Rothchild. And, YO….can I get a personal trainer and a nutritionist? I just want to eat to be able to think…not think to be able to eat. LOL. Besides…I’m sick of having to repeatedly cook, tabulate calories and disinfect my eyes from the flabby women that ALWAYS want to walk around the health club locker room naked. LOL. I love slow songs. I'm a deep thinker. I SHOP and shop again. Don’t walk past me and look me in the eyes without speaking—what the??? I’m a chameleon….but my original foundation remains the same. I love budgeting…not performing math calculations…just the art and foresight of being able to take a budget (no matter how large or small), plan it from A-Z and make it WORK effortlessly. Course….I have to….in order to shop. LOL.

I love kind, but spicy "take no mess" folks who are straight up with me and do what they say. I don’t like to WONDER too long…tell me what’s up, straight up. I'm adventurous....but smart enough to know not to be shark bait....to climb on TOP of the roof of that car instead of trying to outrun the huge—and rapidly approaching—angry dog…..go walking alone in the forest at night….jump off a high ledge using a big rubber band with nothing but cement below (that’s Bungee jumping for the adventure impaired, LOL)….remain INSIDE the doggoned house when I hear obvious noises upstairs and ask “Who’s there?” when I already KNOW nobody’s home but me….drive on top of active train tracks with an old car….go to the beach with no sunscreen (Black folks burn, too)….leave the house with no deodorant….or bug repellent….or get eaten by somethin' in some unexplored deep underground cave. I don’t know if nobody told you, but we are NOT one with nature. You can GO ON SOMEWHERE with that. Nature will rip you a new one. LOL. I like to do things outside of the norm, though. Guess I'm a rebel like that. You can go in the front door if ya' want....I'm goin' in thru the back! They just stopped you, but I just snuck on by. LOL.

Music is in my soul...in my bloodline. I'm a relative of the legendary late, great Sam Cooke and the late Eddie Kendrick (Temptations). Interesting family. Me? Businesswoman. Multi-octave vocalist, producer, songwriter, composer, arranger, actress, musician, scriptwriter, poet, concept designer and much more. Gotta leave something for surprise! Preparing several films of my own, collaborating on a few with others. I'm also preparing for my album release, fashion line and shoe rush. Don't ask. LOL. Ah...but I've got higher plans. My concerns lie with the youth and the elderly and I will do something about those two main branches of our future existence. My purpose...my very fulfillment on this earth is to use my every talent that God gave me to implement change. My mission is not ordered by man's opinion, but by my inescapable destiny. I won’t be following trends…I’ll be starting them. My steps are ordered. We’ll talk. Stay tuned for upcoming web ads. You? Say hello, let me know. Either way, I'm pleased to meet you. LDM

The welfare of our nation's elderly. The elderly are simply infants reversed with wisdom. Our founding mothers and fathers MUST be taken care of and not thrust aside, forgotten about and treated poorly in nursing homes just because they have aged and may be too sick to defend themselves!!! People must remember that they, too (if they last as long) must age someday!!
Project or initiative you have started or would love to start:
My partners and I are on the move, integrating underprivileged youth in sports, fashion, film, economics and music/entertainment. Life is so "microwaved" right now. We need to get back to putting things in the oven. We've planted the seeds....actively nurturing several projects for over three years now. Almost time for the flowers to bloom. Ooh wee! A change is gonna come!!!!

My SoulGen username is KalaKya. The name of my publishing company is Kala Kya Music Publishing. Kala Kya means "Black Diamond In The Sky", combining African and Sanskrit origins. Light is the key to life. Black is the color that absorbs all frequencies of light. The precious Diamond is the hardest natural material known to humankind; hardness is defined as resistance to scratching. Life is full of unpleasant “scratches”. We strive to be solid….resistant to tarnishing during our life’s walk. The sky represents hope, change, light, air, serenity and so much more. It is where we imagine escape to dream of peace. These words flow for me.....for so many reasons. A Black Diamond In The Sky. Think about that for a minute. How beautiful is that? This is what I am striving to be during my life's mission. LD

Now...for my favorite quotes:

People see God every day, they just don't recognize him.
* Pearl Bailey, 1967

No person is your friend who demands your silence, or denies your right to grow.
*Alice Walker

Want to be bold? Speak. Want to be rare? Stop. Listen. Think. Then speak.
*LaDeana Michelle

Focusing your life solely on making a buck shows a certain poverty of ambition. It asks too little of yourself. It's only when you hitch your wagon to something larger than yourself that you realize your true potential.
* Barack Obama

One and God make a majority.
*Frederick Douglass

When you do the common things in life in an uncommon way, you will command the attention of the world.
*George Washington Carver

Sometimes, I feel discriminated against, but it does not make me angry. It merely astonishes me. How can any deny themselves the pleasure of my company? It's beyond me.
*Zora Neale Hurston

An unhappy person on the inside breeds an infected home and decays the lives of every visitor who knocks at their door.
*LaDeana Michelle

When you love a man, he becomes more than a body. His physical limbs expand, and his outline recedes, vanishes. He is rich and sweet and right. He is part of the world, the atmosphere, the blue sky and the blue water.
*Gwendolyn Brooks

Mistakes are a fact of life. It is the response to the error that counts.
*Nikki Giovanni

The artist must bow to the monster of his own imagination.
*Richard Wright

No man, who continues to add something to the material, intellectual and moral well-being of the place in which he lives, is left long without proper reward.

GAS - ANYBODY EXPERIENCING THIS?

I don't know about anyone else...but at the last gas station I went to in Los Angeles, CA, they've lowered gas two cents. Yep. TWO WHOLE CENTS. Mow me down. Instead of $4.47 per gallon, it is now $4.45...which, if you pay attention to the signs, it is actually $4.45 and 9/10. Nine-tenths. Yep. That's basically $4.46 creatively displayed, thank you. We CAN read, ya know. Wow....so gas has actually lowered a penny for us. OOH. Anybody want to go out to dinner with THAT savings? If sContinue

Maxwell: BLACKsummers’ Night

The best way to listen to Maxwell’s new “BLACKsummers’ Night” is with the volume turned all the way up.
